Step 1: Get SyncMate Free edition.
Download and install SyncMate Free edition on your Mac. SyncMate is compatible with iOS 3.x - iOS 6.x iPads (anyway, we advise to test SyncMate Free edition prior to upgrading to Expert).
Step 2: Connect your iPad to your Mac.
You can connect your iPad to Mac via USB. So, once SyncMate is installed, please, connect devices.
Note that SyncMate doesn't limit the quantity of Macs you can sync your iPad with. Of course, the quantity of iPads, which can be synced with your Mac is unlimited.

Step 3: What would you like to sync?
SyncMate Free will sync Address Book and iCal entries between your Mac and iPad. Just choose one of these plugins or both of them by checking their boxes.

Step 4: Choose sync direction
With SyncMate you can sync your Mac and iPad in three directions - Mac to iPad (Mac data will be added to the existing entries on your iPad), iPad to Mac (iPad data will be added to the existing Mac entries) and bi-directional - data will be mutually updated on both sides.
Contacts, calendars, Safari bookmarks, Entourage and Mail notes (OS X 10.7 or earlier), Stickies and folders can be synced in three directions. iTunes & Video* and iPhoto* can be synced in one direction (iPad to Mac).
Step 6. SyncMate Free vs SyncMate Expert
SyncMate Free will sync the most vital data between your Mac and iPad - Contacts and Calendars.
SyncMate Expert gives you an access to all apossible sync options offered for iPad sync.
